Tickets

When viewing the timetable online or on the app it is also possible to purchase a ticket. Some helpful points to consider:

  1. The young person with autism will need to be aware of the different types of ticket available such as single and return
  2. If they are going to be using public transport regularly to travel to college, university or work, for example, it would be advantageous to consider multi – journey cards or travel cards.
  3. If they are going to purchase a ticket at the station or on board the bus/ train it may be helpful to role play what they need to ask for and the various responses which the member of staff may make. Having the opportunity to practice the purchase of a ticket several times before it is required may be helpful.
